The Treatment Process
A treatment will last approximately 1hr and will consist of the following:
History - A detailed case history will be taken, including details of any previous or current problems or injuries.
Assessment - A stationary observation of the animals symmetry and conformation followed by gait analysis, ideally on a hard surface in walk trot, small circles and rein back. It maybe necessary to observe lunging or ridden work in horses.
Gentle palpation (feel) of the whole body identifying any areas of pain, sensitivity or abnormality, including assessment of the range of motion in joints.
Treatment - Once problem areas have been identified treatment may include McTimoney chiropractic adjustment, joint mobilisation, soft tissue massage, fascial release, muscle stretching and possibly K-active taping techniques. The treatment techniques used will be dependant on the individual and what will be the most beneficial.
Aftercare - Rest and light exercise are recommended after therapeutic treatment. Rehab advise including exercise, regime and professional referral (i.e. dentist/saddler) will be given and is specific to the individual. Follow up appointments will be discussed with the owner and are dependant of the problems found.
Treatment will normally take place in the animals home and can be booked via telephone or email with Lucy on:
